Department of Mechanical and Electronic Engineering is the mainstay in the institute. We have an excellent teaching staff, including 15 associate professors, senior engineers, and visiting professors. There are also three subject-pioneers and 14 teachers with rich practical experience in engineering. We also have excellent experiment equipments, such as nine basic laboratories, one national electric and intelligent equipment for demonstration, one CAD/CAM center of numerically controlled turning, two computer laboratories for modern mechanical and electric designing, six training laboratories for mechanical processing and electricity and eight practice bases off campus. So we can provide more than 300 people with mechanical and electric technology training positions at the same time,. Our department is the training and appraisal unit for national numerically controlled program, the training and appraisal unit of three-dimensional design for American companies such as Autodesk, UGS, PTC and so on, and also the training base of relevant skills for some domestic famous enterprises. Our department has a high quality teaching staff, and now has 10 majors cultivating senior practical talents who possess mechanical and electric skills. And the productions designed and made by teachers and students have frequently won prizes in municipal, provincial and national competitions.

Educational objectives:
Students are required to master the basic skills in mechanical design, electrician and electron, and SCM and PLC, and have the basic theory and skills of CAD/CAM and numerical control. They also can operate, adjust, and maintain the machine tool.
